BPS Parents & Friends: A Look Back at 2025 and a Warm Welcome to 2026

Dear Brighton Primary School Community,

With the new school year just around the corner, the Parents & Friends Committee would love to welcome all our families back to BPS for what will be another great year ahead. We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday morning for danishes, with coffee available to purchase.

But before we do here are some of the highlights from 2025 (not all inclusive):

  • The fantastic turnout and participation at the School Disco and Colour Fun Run.
  • The Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day Stalls, along with Muffins and Donut mornings, all made possible by our wonderful volunteers.
  • The Quiz Night, with a special mention to Tom for keeping everyone entertained as our quizmaster.
  • Although the Halloween Spooktacular was sadly cancelled due to weather, the team is ready and excited to bring it back in 2026.
  • A lovely end-of-year meeting at The Rocks Restaurant Marino, with a big thank you to the owners and staff for the great food and service they provided. We cannot recommend them enough! A thank you also to our school Governing Council for sponsoring our meals on the night.

To every volunteer who baked, cooked, lifted, sorted, sold, raffled, organised, or simply gave their time in 2025, thank you! Your support makes ALL the difference to what we can offer our school. We would also like to acknowledge our teachers and staff for their ongoing dedication to the school and or kids, and for working so closely with P&F throughout the year to make sure these events can go ahead.

We are proud to share that funds raised in 2025 contributed to the two new filtered and chilled water stations and a large contribution to the upgraded library. These are improvements that directly support our students and their learning environment.

As we look ahead to the year to come, we warmly welcome all parents and carers, both new and returning, to get involved with BPS P&F in whatever way suits you. Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, every bit of support helps build a stronger school community. If you would like to get involved in future events, please [sign up here] to receive our emails and help out where you can! Or please email us at [email protected]

We hope all families have enjoyed a restful break and are feeling ready for the year ahead. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school next week and to another great year together at BPS.

‘Our first meeting for 2026 will be held on Wednesday 11 February at 7 pm, and all are very welcome to attend.’
