During the National Week of Deaf People, Brighton Primary School and the Centre of Deaf Education proudly celebrated the Deaf community, Deaf culture and the importance of inclusion through a range of special activities across the school.

The week featured a whole-school assembly to raise awareness and recognise the valuable contributions of Deaf people, as well as a celebration morning tea and a Deaf community afternoon tea, giving students, staff and families the opportunity to connect and celebrate together.

Students also enjoyed a fun and memorable “Voices Off” disco, which encouraged everyone to experience communication in different ways, while CDE students, CODAs, SODAs and their friends came together for a sausage sizzle. These activities helped promote understanding, respect and a strong sense of belonging across our school community.
