A message from our Autism Inclusion Teacher
Term 1 has been incredibly busy for everyone at Brighton Primary. Here’s an update on the work and support we are providing for our neurodiverse students.
I have been working closely with individual teachers to identify and implement support strategies for students with Autism. This has included providing assistive tools such as manipulatives and soothing resources, creating breakout spaces, modifying programs, and guiding students through the Zones of Regulation. Additionally, we have applied for extra SSO support based on individual student needs.
As the AIT, I will continue to provide release time for teachers so we can collaborate effectively and ensure the best possible support and outcomes for our neurodiverse students.
