Allergy aware
At Brighton Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of all students—including those with anaphylactic allergies—is a shared responsibility among families and staff.
To keep all students safe, we ask:
Families of children with allergies:
- Provide a current medical action plan and any required medication to the school.
- Notify us of any changes in your child’s allergy or medication.
- Send food only from home for your child and remind them not to share food.
- Work with staff to ensure safety during events like excursions and class parties.
Families of children without allergies:
- Please avoid sending foods to school that may trigger life-threatening allergic reactions (such as nuts).
- Remind your child not to share food and to be supportive and understanding of classmates with allergies.
- Encourage your child to follow all safety guidelines shared by staff.
Our staff are trained to respond to emergencies and regularly check medical equipment. Keeping all students safe is a community effort. Please contact the school if you need more information or support.
