Learning about the community with Louise Miller-Frost

Students from Mawson 3 and Mawson 4 welcomed Member for Boothby, Louise Miller-Frost into their learning space this week. Louise was able to offer her insights into our local community by sharing the work she does and how it affects Brighton.

With Louise’s support, students drew a symbol that personally represents Brighton to them. Many students drew the Brighton Jetty, the Arch of Remembrance, sea creatures, and themselves in their school uniform.

When asked how we as students can help look after our community, Louise told us to be kind to each other and to give help to those who need it.

Mawson 3 and Mawson 4 students are currently working on a learning expedition where they are asking the question: ‘What does it mean to belong to a community, and what responsibilities come with belonging.’ Louise’s thoughts and contributions were a great addition to the learning students have been doing.
