Sporting Excellence Across Term 2
District Netball Carnival
Our Year 5/6 boys’ and girls’ netball teams proudly represented Brighton at the District Netball Carnival. A big thank you to coaches Kate Stanbury, who led the girls’ team, and Ali Casement, who coached the boys. Both teams showed fantastic sportsmanship and determination throughout the day, with the boys finishing the carnival undefeated. Congratulations to Sophia and Archie, who were selected for further district trials. An extra congratulations to Archie, who earned selection in the South West District Team.
District Cross Country
Brighton had an impressive 33 students compete at the District Cross Country Carnival under the supervision of Marek Bendyk. Every runner demonstrated resilience and determination, contributing to a fantastic team performance. Congratulations to Lexie, Zachary, Zoe, and Emilia who were selected to represent the South West District Team. Brighton also achieved an outstanding 4th place overall in the Large School division, finishing behind St Peters, Westminster, and McAuley.
Year 3/4 NRL Tackle Rugby Carnival
A huge turnout of 68 students across 7 teams represented Brighton in the Year 3/4 NRL Tackle Rugby Carnival. The day was made even more special with the support of our dedicated Year 6 Junior Coaches, who did a fantastic job leading and encouraging our younger players.
Year 5/6 NRL Tackle Rugby
Our Year 5/6 students continued the rugby action with 79 students across 8 teams competing against Warradale Primary School. It was a great display of teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship, with all students representing Brighton with pride.
District Soccer Carnival
Unfortunately, the District Soccer Carnival was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
Looking Ahead to Term 3
There is plenty to look forward to in another busy term of school sport! Students will have opportunities to compete in: Basketball, Athletics, Year 3/4 Tag Rugby, Year 5/6 Tag Rugby and theTigers Cup AFL 9s.
