Year 3 Celebrates National Outdoor Play Day at Nature Play Mini Fest! 🌿
On Thursday, our Year 3 students celebrated National Outdoor Play Day by participating in the exciting Nature Play Mini Fest, enjoying a day filled with outdoor exploration, creativity and hands on learning.
The incursion provided students with a wonderful opportunity to connect with the natural environment through a variety of engaging and imaginative activities. Students enthusiastically participated in cubby building, sunflower seed pot making with clay, water painting, marble runs, water runs and loose parts construction.
One of the highlights was potion making, where students used natural herbs, leaves, water, ice, foraged twigs and gum nuts to create their own imaginative concoctions. These experiences encouraged students to experiment, collaborate, problem-solve and explore the endless possibilities of nature based play.
Throughout the day, students demonstrated creativity, curiosity, teamwork and resilience as they engaged in open-ended play and discovered new ways to interact with the natural environment. From constructing imaginative cubbies to exploring water and natural materials, there was something for everyone to enjoy and so much more!
Celebrating National Outdoor Play Day highlights the importance of outdoor play in supporting children’s wellbeing, physical development, creativity and social connections. Experiences such as Nature Play allow students to develop meaningful connections with their peers while fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Our Year 3 students thoroughly enjoyed this enriching experience, making the most of a fun filled day of learning, exploration and discovery!
